INTERESTING FACTS
In 1919, admission to Stuyvesant became restricted for the first time, based on elementary school achievement. Mathematics, advanced chemistry and physics courses are offered as Stuyvesant transforms into a "science high school," the first in the city.
The years 1919-1920 also saw several sports victories; the freshman swimmers win the PSAL (Public School Athletic League) and Soccer claims the title of Eastern State Champs, with cross-country second in the city.
